The other night I was restless and edgy. Perhaps this is because of the abortion battle — or the gun reform battle. So many battles. Only so many hours in the day. I decided to tune in to some political news. But this presented a problem because there WASN’T any.

Oh, there were talking heads, alright. Only they weren’t giving us the NEWS. Allow me to speak of three of them. Number one was on CNN. Her name is Caitlin Collins, and she is hosting the 9:00 PM hour this week. This was yet another mistake CNN’s Chris Licht made. Collins, who got her start working for the right-wing “Daily Caller”, is wooden. I did not care to watch her.

Number two was on a small and fledgling news station. Hers was a crime show. After being subjected to gruesome details about children’s remains, I decided I did not want to watch her. Number three was from the same small station. His name is Dan Abrams, and he used to work for MSNBC.

I put him on. His version of the “news” was making fun of the Tennessee three and laughing at democrats for giving them such a warm reception back to their rightful place. I decided I could not watch him.

See a pattern here? The “News” media is getting worse and worse. As candidate quality matters in elections, so too does pundit quality, and the other evening it was about zero.

I do not think it is too much to ask to have quality news-people on television. Only that seems to be becoming a thing of the past. I propose we just turn it off when we see this. There really isn’t any other way of changing how the news is delivered.

We need to give them low ratings. This might just work with the possible exception of CNN, which does not seem to welcome high ratings. Last night was a bad night for pundits. It seems every night is becoming so. So let’s just say no to the horrible pundits who proclaim to be fair and without bias. Just turn them off.
