Democrats To Host Convention in Crime-Ridden Chicago

The Democratic Party on Tuesday announced it will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where crime has skyrocketed under the party’s complete hold on power.

President Joe Biden, who made the decision, called Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker (D.) Tuesday to inform him of his choice. The convention, which will take place next year between Aug. 19-22, will host at least 5,000 delegates and alternatives. Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D., Ill.) praised the event for being hosted at the United Center, a “union facility.”

Chicago voters, who haven’t seen a Republican mayor since 1931, last week elected far-left Democratic mayoral candidate Brandon Johnson, a “Defund the Police” advocate who was the only candidate to not support filling the city’s 1,600 police officer vacancies.

Johnson said in 2019 that the city shouldgo to neighborhoods and provide supports to community, not just with law enforcement.”

Voters rejected current Democratic mayor Lori Lightfoot in the first round of voting in February. The homicide rate has skyrocketed nearly 40 percent since she took the reins in 2019, watchdog Wirepoints reported.

The city’s district attorney, Kim Foxx, is funded by billionaire George Soros and has been accused of letting violent criminals off easy. Foxx in January refused to bring charges against a felon who killed one person and wounded another in a shootout.

The county Foxx oversees, Cook County, has experienced a 27 percent decrease in convictions and a 54 percent jump in dismissed cases, the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund found, despite rising crime.

Illinois ranks second in the nation for most residents leaving, with one resident leaving the state every 3 minutes and 43 seconds.
