Cardiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and pediatric surgeons are three high-paying jobs in the US.

Insider looked at the latest average pay figures from the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) program. The most recent update shows pay and employment data for May 2022.

Cardiologists had an average pay of $421,330, while the national annual average for all occupations was $61,900. Many other medical professionals make a lot of money. For instance, the average annual salary for nurse anesthetists was $205,770.

Not every high-paying job among the top 30 are medical occupations. Architectural and engineering managers ranked No. 30 and lawyers ranked No. 28, according to our analysis of detailed occupations from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These two jobs had average pay of about $160,000 — $163,310 and $163,770 respectively.

Below are the 30 highest-paying jobs, along with each occupation’s total employment estimate and average annual pay.
